Refund Policy
I want every customer to be satisfied. Here is exactly when refunds apply and how to request one.
1. Etsy purchases (most templates)
Most ClicknFile templates are sold through Etsy. Etsy applies its own digital-goods refund rules, which I follow and extend.
I will refund you if:
- The file does not open or is corrupted
- The template does not match the description on the listing
- You discover a clear bug that prevents core use, and I cannot fix it within 7 days
Etsy's default policy does not require refunds on digital downloads once delivered, but I voluntarily refund in the cases above.
2. Custom orders (paid template work)
If you commissioned a custom template:
- Before I start: 100% refund if you change your mind.
- Work in progress, no draft delivered yet: 50% refund.
- After first draft delivery: no refund, but I will revise within the agreed scope.
Custom work scope is always agreed in writing before I start.
3. Subscriptions
There are no subscriptions on ClicknFile. Every purchase is a one-time, lifetime license. You will never be charged again unexpectedly.
4. How to request a refund
- Easiest path: open a case directly on the Etsy order page. Etsy will notify me and we resolve it through their platform.
- Or: email me through /contact with your order number and a short description of the issue. I respond within 24 hours.
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method. Etsy refunds typically appear in 3-5 business days; direct refunds (custom orders) within 7 days.
5. What is not refundable
- "I changed my mind" requests after a working file has been delivered (per Etsy's standard digital-goods rule)
- Issues caused by using the template outside its stated specs (e.g., running a Windows-only VBA template on Mac when the listing clearly says Windows only)
- Customizations or third-party services you added on top of the template
6. Disputes and chargebacks
If something feels off, please email me first via /contact. Almost every issue is resolved without involving Etsy disputes or PayPal chargebacks. Filing a chargeback before contacting me is rarely necessary and may delay resolution.
